About the teaching artist: Monica Iversen's artistic journey began in the surroundings of her father's NY studio, where she first learned the techniques of classic realism. Inspired by the works of the Dutch Masters, Monica's oil paintings are vibrant expressions of color and intricate storytelling. Her work evokes a sense of nostalgia, intertwined with complex narratives. Admirers often liken her work to a collaboration between Norman Rockwell and Salvador Dali, where the familiar meets the surreal. Her art can be seen in museums and at prestigious exhibits across the North and Southeastern United States.
